1. FirstJobly is a platform, not an employer

FirstJobly is a platform that connects job seekers with employers, recruiters and training opportunities. We are not the employer, recruiter or training provider for any listing on the app, and we are not a party to any employment relationship, contract, learnership or bursary agreement that results from using FirstJobly.

We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, current, still open, or that it will result in an interview, offer or employment. We do not screen every employer. Listings are often gathered from employer websites and public sources and may change or be withdrawn without notice. Always verify an opportunity independently before sharing sensitive information or paying anyone. A legitimate employer will never ask you to pay a fee to apply, be interviewed, or be placed. Report anything suspicious using the report button on the listing.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of everything in your profile, including your qualifications, work history and documents. Misrepresenting your credentials to an employer is your responsibility, not ours.
• Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account. Tell us immediately if you think it has been compromised.
• One person, one account. Do not create accounts on someone else's behalf.
• You may only upload documents that belong to you and that you have the right to share.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• post false, misleading, fraudulent or scam job opportunities;
• harvest, scrape, resell or republish listings, profiles or other users' information;
• use FirstJobly to send spam, recruit for pyramid schemes, or solicit payment from job seekers;
• attempt to access another user's account, documents or data, or bypass our security or access controls;
• upload malware, or interfere with, overload or reverse-engineer the app or its backend;
• use FirstJobly for anything unlawful or discriminatory.

4. GraduateRoom and other community content

GraduateRoom is a space for students and graduates to share advice and experiences. When posting or commenting, these rules apply:

• No harassment. No bullying, threats, hate speech, sexual harassment, or attacks based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability or nationality.
• No fake job postings. Do not advertise opportunities you cannot verify, request application fees, or ask other users for banking details, ID copies or payment.
• No doxxing. Do not publish other people's personal information.
• No spam or self-promotion disguised as advice, and no plagiarised content.
• Keep it relevant, respectful and safe for a young professional audience.

You keep ownership of what you post, and you grant us a licence to host and display it within FirstJobly. We may moderate, edit, hide or delete content, and suspend or terminate accounts, at our discretion and without prior notice, where content breaches these rules or harms users. Posting anonymously hides your identity from other users, but your post remains linked to your account internally for moderation and safety purposes.

5. Applying to jobs

When you apply through FirstJobly, you authorise us to share the profile details and documents that the application requires with the relevant employer or recruiter. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy practices. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep FirstJobly available and improving, but we provide the service "as is" and may change, suspend or discontinue features. We may also update these terms; continuing to use FirstJobly after an update means you accept the revised terms.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, FirstJobly is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the platform, including lost opportunities, an employer's conduct or decisions, inaccurate listings, or content posted by other users.

8. Ending your use

You may stop using FirstJobly and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
