The Department of Tourism has a Supply Chain Clerk: Demand and Logistics Management vacancy at their Pretoria offices. It is a permanent government post at salary level 05, paying R237 453 per annum excluding service benefits. The minimum requirement is a Matric certificate and no prior experience is needed.

Supply chain management in the public sector is a structured and process-driven function. This role sits specifically in the demand and logistics management space, which means you will be working with quotations, procurement documents, contracts and supplier compliance on a daily basis. It is detail-oriented work that builds a strong foundation in government procurement — one of the more transferable skills in the public sector.

A permanent government post at the Department of Tourism, no experience required — and a Matric is enough to qualify.

What You Will Be Doing

This is a procurement and logistics administration role. Your responsibilities will cover the full quotation and contract management cycle:

  • Sourcing quotations on the CSD and E-portal from service providers
  • Receiving, recording and updating the RFQ progress register
  • Sending RFQs to selected service providers and receiving their quotations
  • Evaluating quotations and compiling evaluation reports
  • Submitting procurement documents for review and routing them for approval
  • Publishing RFQ results and awards on the E-portal
  • Maintaining the departmental contract register and finance lease register
  • Verifying supplier compliance — tax status, banking details, BEE certificates and SBD forms
  • Compiling monthly reports on RFQs and RFPs
  • Attending to daily queries from internal and external clients

Who Can Apply

  • Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate — minimum requirement
  • No work experience required
  • A diploma or degree in a relevant field is advantageous
  • Computer literacy and good written and verbal communication skills
