About FirstJobly

FirstJobly is a South African job platform focused on the roles that start careers: government vacancies, learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, graduate programmes and entry-level positions across all nine provinces.

Every listing links back to the official employer application, and we mark closing dates clearly so you never waste an application on an expired advert.

Where our listings come from

Every vacancy on FirstJobly is sourced from the employer's own advert — departmental circulars and the DPSA bulletin for public-service posts, official careers portals and SETA-funded programme notices for learnerships and internships, and direct submissions from employers who post through our verified employer portal. We record the closing date, reference number and application method exactly as the employer published them, and we link back to the official application rather than collecting your application on the employer's behalf unless they have explicitly asked us to.

Listings are checked before they go live, employer submissions are reviewed by a person before publication, and posts that have closed are marked as closed instead of quietly disappearing, so an old link never presents an expired vacancy as if it were open. If you find a listing that is inaccurate, expired or a scam, report it from the job page and we will act on it.

Who writes our career guides

Our category guides and career articles are written and maintained by the FirstJobly Team — the same people who review the listings every day. That means the guidance on Z83 forms, learnership stipends, graduate assessment centres and first-CV screening is drawn from the adverts and employer requirements we handle in volume, not from generic international advice. Where a rule comes from a public source, such as the Department of Public Service and Administration's Z83 requirements, we say so and describe it as it is actually applied.

We update guides when the underlying requirement changes and re-check them at least annually. Corrections are welcome — email info@firstjobly.co.za and tell us what is wrong.

How we make money, and what we never do

FirstJobly is free for job seekers. We are funded by employers who pay to post and by sponsored placements, which are labelled as sponsored wherever they appear. We never charge a job seeker for an application, an interview, training or placement, and no legitimate employer on this site will either. If anyone asks you for money to get a job, that is a scam — do not pay, and report it to us.

Free tools

Our CV Maker produces ATS-friendly, single-column CVs, and the Z83 form filler completes the official public-service application form for you. Both are free to use.
