Footgear Is Offering a Planning and Merchandise Internship for N6 Graduates in Tyger Valley

Footgear SA is offering an 18-month Planning and Merchandise Internship at their Tyger Valley offices in Cape Town. This is a Work Integrated Learning placement built specifically for N6 graduates who need WIL hours to complete their National Diploma. The role sits inside the Merchandise team and covers retail planning, stock management, trend analysis and merchandising strategy.

Retail planning and merchandising is one of the most commercially important functions in any retail business — it determines what stock goes where, when and at what price. Getting structured exposure to this side of retail early in your career builds a genuine foundation for roles in buying, planning and category management down the line.

What You Will Be Doing

The internship is structured around three core areas:

Planning Support — assisting with sales and stock analysis reports, supporting demand forecasting, monitoring store performance and stock movement, and assisting with allocation and replenishment processes.

Merchandising Support — assisting with product assortment planning, supporting product lifecycle tracking, and monitoring product performance and sell-through rates.

Data and Admin — capturing and maintaining accurate merchandising data, supporting weekly and monthly reporting, assisting with price updates and promotions, and maintaining data integrity across systems.

Who Can Apply

• Completed N6 Certificate in Business Management, Retail Management, Fashion or a related field
• Must require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to obtain your National Diploma
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Good communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills — highly advantageous
• Strong attention to detail
• Genuine interest in retail, fashion and product trends
