What the role involves
The Skills Development Intern will support the Learning & Development (Skills Development) team across the full administrative lifecycle of INSETA-aligned programmes. The role is highly administrative with compliance and audit-readiness at its core.
Key responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end programme administration and learner enrolments on internal systems and INSETA portals.
- Collect, verify and file invoices, remittances and completion certificates monthly.
- Record and track training spend and produce input for internal reports.
- Create and maintain document folders to support internal audits and INSETA submissions.
- Assist with progress and closure reports for legislative programmes in line with INSETA timelines.
- Provide ad-hoc support for training material updates, assessments and delivery logistics.
Who we’re looking for (minimum)
- Degree or Diploma in HR, Industrial Psychology or related (completed qualification required).
- ODETDP qualification will be an advantage.
- Unemployed South African citizens aged 18–35 with less than 6 months previous full-time employment.
- Not previously placed on an INSETA internship and not currently in post-matric studies or full-time employment.
Skills & attributes
- Strong administrative, organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills; proactive and self-driven.
- Basic facilitation and training admin experience (advantageous).
- Ability to work in a team and take ownership of deliverables.
- Computer literate — MS Office (Excel / Word / Outlook).
Selection & timeline
Shortlisting will begin after the closing date for applications and depends on manager availability. The internship is scheduled to begin in February 2026. Please allow time for screening, interviews and induction.

- Must be unemployed (less than 6 months prior employment for consideration).
- Must hold a completed relevant degree or diploma (HR / Industrial Psychology).
- Must not previously have participated in an INSETA internship.
