PPS Healthcare Administrators Internship 2026 — Break Into Medical Aid Administration

PPS Healthcare Administrators (PPSHA) has opened applications for a 12-month Internship Programme based in Centurion, Gauteng. The programme sits within the Learning and Development department and is designed to give recent graduates hands-on exposure to how a medical aid administration company actually operates — across claims, underwriting, member services and more.

Healthcare administration is one of the more stable and in-demand career paths in South Africa's financial services sector. Getting structured experience at an established company like PPS gives your CV real weight when you start applying for permanent roles.

Who Can Apply

Requirements are practical and the qualification bar is open to a wide range of graduates:

• South African citizen aged between 18 and 35
• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 certificate
• Completed 3-year Bachelor's degree, National Diploma or Honours in any relevant field
• Fluent in English (additional South African languages are a plus)
• Not currently employed or participating in another internship
• Basic computer literacy with good time management and admin skills

What You Will Be Doing

The programme rotates you through different parts of the business so you leave with a broad understanding of how medical aid administration works end to end. Areas you will gain exposure to include:

• Medical aid correspondence and member subscriptions
• Claims assessment and processing
• Clinical administration and underwriting
• New member applications and onboarding
• Customer service delivery across business units
• Formative and summative assessments to track your learning
