Minimum requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (Basic R171, R174 or R425) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional / Registered Nurse.
- Current SANC registration to practice as a Professional/Registered Nurse for the relevant year.
- Good communication, report-writing, facilitation, coordination, planning and organisational skills.
- Competency in problem-solving and information management.
Duties & responsibilities
- Provide direction and supervision for implementation of the nursing plan to ensure quality patient care.
- Implement nursing standards, practices, criteria and quality indicators.
- Practice nursing in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and SANC professional standards.
- Maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Use human, physical and material resources efficiently and effectively.
- Provide complex clinical nursing care where required and act as shift leader when necessary.
- Participate in training, research and continuous professional development activities.
- Be willing to work shifts and be rotated across units as required.

- Proof of SANC registration (current registration certificate).

- Service certificates from previous employers (stating occupation and dates).
Selection checks & verification
- Personnel Suitability Checks will be conducted (criminal checks, citizenship, qualification verification, company directorships, social media, financial records and reference checks).
- Candidates with foreign qualifications must provide a SAQA evaluation certificate.
- The recommended candidate may be required to undergo medical surveillance as per OHS Act, and must be prepared for rotations across hospital units including specialised units.
