The Opportunity
The Learner Maintenance (Unemployed Production) programme is based at Toyota’s Prospecton manufacturing facility in Durban. Successful candidates will receive practical workplace training alongside formal instruction, leading to an NQF Level 3 qualification.
The programme focuses on core manufacturing skills required in modern production environments and is intended to prepare participants for long-term careers in technical and industrial fields.
Training Areas
- Use of hand tools and workshop equipment
- Manufacturing and assembly processes
- Basic technical drawing and marking-off procedures
- Welding techniques and safety practices
- Machine operation and monitoring
- Surface preparation and finishing
- Fire safety and workplace compliance
- Operations support and dispatch activities
Minimum Requirements
- National Technical Certificate (N3–N6), or
- Matric / Technical Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science or Engineering Science, or
- Technical Matric with Electrical, Mechanical or Motor Trade Theory
- Mechanical Drawing or Graphical Design will be advantageous
