    • TWK Agri, a leading agricultural and timber enterprise in South Africa, has officially advertised a permanent employment opportunity for a General Worker within their Timber Division Nursery located in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

    This hands-on role involves practical maintenance work across the nursery grounds, operating maintenance equipment, handling irrigation repairs, and assisting with logistics and loading operations.

    Job Overview & Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will perform various general upkeep duties across the nursery property, including:

    • Grounds Maintenance: Cutting grass, maintaining lawn and garden areas, and keeping pathways and workspaces clean and tidy.
  • Machinery & Tractor Operation: Operating and driving a tractor alongside other basic maintenance equipment as required.
  • Infrastructure Repairs: Maintaining and repairing nursery pipes, irrigation systems, growing tables, shade nets, and general property structures.
  • Chemical Application: Safely and correctly spraying herbicides, pesticides, or relevant treatments following agricultural safety protocols.
  • Logistics & Material Handling: Assisting with loading and offloading delivery trucks, handling materials, and responsibly storing tools and equipment.

    • Minimum Qualifications and Skills

    Applicants must satisfy the following baseline qualifications and physical criteria:

    • Education: Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12).
  • Machinery Experience: Demonstrated tractor driving experience.
  • Practical Experience: Prior experience in manual labor, as well as basic knowledge of irrigation systems, garden tools, and minor repairs.
  • Safety Knowledge: Ability to handle and apply agricultural chemicals safely.
  • Physical Fitness: Physically fit, reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Added Advantage: A valid Code 10 Driver’s License with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is advantageous.
