    • Weylandts Furniture Creation, a premier brand in luxury homeware and furniture manufacturing, has advertised a permanent employment opportunity for a General Worker in Cape Town, Western Cape.

    This entry-level factory position focuses on supporting upholstery, furniture manufacturing, assembly, and packing operations while maintaining quality and workplace safety standards.

    Purpose of the Role

    The General Worker will assist skilled artisans, carpenters, and upholsterers in the daily manufacturing, assembly, finishing, wrapping, and movement of handcrafted furniture products across the factory floor.

    Key Responsibilities

    Daily factory floor duties include:

    • Production Support: Assisting with the manufacturing and basic assembly of furniture components. Preparing tools, workstations, and materials before production runs.
  • Artisan Assistance: Supporting upholsterers, machinists, carpenters, assemblers, sanders, and packers as required.
  • Material Handling: Safely loading, unloading, and transporting raw materials, components, and finished furniture across the facility.
  • Quality Control: Carefully handling products to prevent damage, adhering to quality specifications, and reporting defects to line supervisors.
  • Packing & Dispatch: Wrapping, packing, labeling, and verifying product codes and quantities prior to delivery loading.
  • Housekeeping & Safety: Keeping factory workstations clean and hazard-free. Adhering to Health and Safety regulations, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and using machinery responsibly.

    • Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must satisfy the following criteria to qualify for selection:

    • Education: Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous factory, upholstery, or manufacturing experience is an added advantage.
  • Physical Capabilities: Able to perform physical manual labor and lift materials safely.
  • Soft Skills: Good verbal communication and teamwork skills.
