AVI Logistics Support Services in Gqeberha is seeking experienced individuals maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the warehouse in compliance with food safety standards, ensuring a safe and contamination-free environment for storage and handling of FMCG products.

Key Performance Areas:

Cleaning and Sanitation

Perform routine cleaning of warehouse floors, racking areas, dispatch zones, receiving areas, offices, ablutions and common spaces.

Sweep, mop, scrub, and wipe surfaces according to cleaning schedules.

Clean spillages immediately to prevent contamination and safety hazards.

Sanitize high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, equipment controls).

Ensure cleaning of staff facilities (canteen, change rooms, restrooms).

Waste Management

Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste in accordance with site procedures.

Ensure proper handling of recyclable and hazardous waste.

Maintain cleanliness of waste storage areas.

Food Safety Compliance

Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards

Prevent cross-contamination by using designated cleaning tools per area.

Follow colour-coded cleaning systems where applicable.

Report any contamination risks, pest sightings, or damaged goods immediately.

Support pest control measures by maintaining a clean environment.

Equipment and Chemicals Handling

Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Ensure correct dilution and application of cleaning agents.

Maintain and store cleaning equipment properly after use.

Report faulty equipment or low stock levels of cleaning materials.

Health and Safety

Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.

Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents.

Place warning signage during cleaning activities (e.g., wet floor signs).

Documentation and Record Keeping

Complete cleaning checklists and logs accurately and on time.

Sign off daily, weekly, and deep-clean schedules.

Report deviations from cleaning standards to the supervisor.
