Unemployed and between the ages of 18–35 years. Must be a South African citizen. Must have completed the qualification at NQF8 (Honours) Strong MS Office skills (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets—basic formulas & pivot tables, PowerPoint/Slides). Be proficient in Adobe. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and written communication. Ability to follow checklists and standard operating procedures. Willingness to learn SA higher education Quality Assurance basics (NQF/HEQSF, CHE).

Description:

The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) is a registered private higher education provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADvTECH Ltd, listed on the JSE. The IIE’s Central Academic Team (CAT) is the custodian of academic quality, educational technology, and governance across the institution. It leads academic strategy, compliance, and operational integrity through robust governance structures. The current CAT is in the process of being repositioned as a Centre of Excellence, a hub for academic innovation, staff capacity building, quality assurance, and governance across both the schools and tertiary divisions. As we reposition CAT, we are excited to invite applications for the role of the Registrar Intern. Based at The IIE’s head office in Sandton, this role will support the Office of the Registrar (OoR) department. The purpose of the job: The IIE’s Central Academic Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registrar Intern to join the Office of the Registrar. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in academic administration, compliance, and quality assurance within the higher education sector. Reporting to: The successful candidate will report to the IIE CAT Registrar. Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position: Research best practices in higher education governance, admissions, certification, and registry operations. Monitor regulatory and statutory websites to identify relevant updates for sector communications. Assist the Registrar in the development of a Registrar Standard Operating Procedure Manual. Create process flows and infographics to support Registrar projects. Assist with referencing and updating institutional policies. Support graduation planning and execution. Coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for meetings and workshops. Track and monitor progress on Registrar-led projects. Respond to queries directed to the Registrar’s office. Assist with compliance reporting and documentation. Maintain organised filing systems for Registrar projects. Manage diary coordination and scheduling for the Registrar. Provide general administrative assistance as required.
