Job description
The Process Leader is responsible for overseeing manufacturing, processing, and/or packaging operations to ensure product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards. The role involves monitoring production processes, maintaining equipment standards, and ensuring adherence to GMP, SOPs, and safety requirements. The Process Leader also manages, coaches, and develops employees to achieve departmental objectives.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- A relevant technical or manufacturing-related qualification will be advantageous, such as Food Technology, Food Science, Production/Operations Management, Food and Beverage
- Relevant technical training or certification in FMCG manufacturing, processing, packaging, GMP, or food safety will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience in the FMCG industry, preferably in a manufacturing, processing, or packaging environment.
- Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role is essential.
- Fluency in Business English.
- Intermediate computer literacy.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Apply quality assurance procedures to the manufacturing and/or packaging process to ensure product integrity and compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor and control inputs and outputs throughout the manufacturing and/or packaging process.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S principles.
- Conduct first-line maintenance and routine inspections of equipment.
- Ensure the correct and safe use of equipment and machinery.
- Ensure that manufacturing and processing activities are performed in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure that Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) procedures are correctly implemented and completed.
