Production Team Leader

The successful candidate will be responsible to supervise, lead and control a production team in accordance with the production plan(s) to achieve production & plant targets. Duties & Responsibilities

Key Functions:

• Ensure that all safety protocols are being followed and adhered to.

• Workplace needs to be neat and tidy before, during and after work process.

• Products needs to be taken from trolleys or any other transportation device.

• Understand and comply to Workday Schedule

• Ensure that all staff comply to Workday Schedule

• Conduct start up and shut down procedure

• Focused morning meeting detailing specific daily requirements

• Ensure daily and hourly targets are monitored on an hourly basis and documented onto the hourly score sheet and review and advise Shift Supervisor of areas of non-compliance

• Review work in progress on an hourly basis and if low communicate with supplier department and follow up on outstanding items.

• Team Leaders are to communicate inter departmentally to facilitate order movement., Chase priorities / commitment

• When a breakdown occurs, ensure Job Card is complete with urgency, notify Supervisor and forwarded to Maintenance Engineering for action.

• Advise Supervisor of improvement areas for increased Throughput

• Team Leaders are to ensure that key machines are utilised by staggering tea/ lunchtime breaks of operators, facilitating maximum yield from machines.

• Take daily role call and that reallocation of heads takes place to cover for absent employee

• Train operators to ensure multi-skilled operators for all machines to cover for absenteeism and machine breakdowns

• Ensure correct documentation is completed for training

• Ensure that First Line Maintenance is conducted on machinery and checklist completed

• Monitor tools & equipment and conduct inspections on a weekly basis and report non-conformances on the checklist

• Problem solving, fault find and repair with regards to all of the paint plant operation and processes

• Ensure high quality of the coated product, and intervening to remedy any quality issues that may arise

• Give guidance to booth operator, assist with jigging methodology and efficiency

• Perform other duties that may be allocated to you from time to time

• Ensure that in the event of an IOD that the IOD Procedure is adhered to

• Promote safety in the workplace and report areas of concern to Supervisor

• Monitor and report on Labour Issues

• Ensure the correct use of tools and consumables.

• Minimise wastages, rejects and scrap.

• Effective time management when conducting duties.

• Rotation of duties will between supervisors and team leader will be required.
