The BMA is established as an armed service in terms of Section 199(3) of the constitution, a third in the country in addition to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) through the Border Management Authority Act No 2 of 2020. The Border Management Authority invites suitable candidates to apply for the following vacant position.
Job Description
Provide office support services in order to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and to enhance the BMA customer service experience
Receive, direct and relay telephone and BMA generic emails
Direct internal and external members to the appropriate office and staff members
Greet, assist and/ or direct guests, students, visitors and the general public
Advice clients on relevant matters based on their requests
Pick up and deliver the mail
Open and date stamp all general correspondence, record all enquiries from the BMA email and landline.
Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence
Assist in the planning, preparation of meeting, conferences and conference telephone calls
Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies
Register the received documents for collection by registry or officials
Transfer or convey messages to internal officials through emails
Respond to public inquiries visiting the office
Provide relevant information as required
Provide secretarial support
Perform clerical duties in order to maintain office administration
Develop and maintain a current and accurate filing system
Assist with the filing and record keeping for all incoming and outgoing documents
Coordinate the repair and maintenance of office equipment
Keep a well organised administration system
Liaise with corporate services with regard to all matters pertaining to the administrative functioning of the office
