National Senior Certificate (Grade 12). Code 14 driver’s licence, with at least 1 year driving experience with heavy vehicles (e.g. 8-ton trucks, truck-and-trailer). 2–5 years’ experience in the technical events industry (live events, AV, staging, production, etc.). Basic technical skills in at least one discipline (e.g. audio, lighting, video, staging) and general knowledge of other disciplines. Basic computer skills (e.g. email, MS Office, basic system usage). 🧩 Skills & Competencies Basic client-facing and communication skills – comfortable dealing with clients on site. Strong team player with a collaborative attitude. Punctual and reliable, with good time management and respect for schedules. Physically able to handle loading, offloading and movement of equipment. Trustworthy, responsible and safety-conscious. Willingness to work after-hours and weekends when events require it.

Technical Assistant & Driver (LED/AV/Sound) Our client is looking for a hands-on Technical Assistant to support the technical, warehouse and transport functions behind high-impact corporate events. You’ll help ensure that all technical requirements are met on each project, that equipment is correctly prepared and maintained, and that gear is safely transported to and from shows. Their teams combine deep technical expertise with creativity to deliver events that are memorable, precise and flawlessly executed. πŸ“Œ Role Details πŸ“ Location: Midrand / Centurion πŸ’° Salary: R15 000 – R22 000 (depending on experience) πŸ‘₯ Seats: 1 πŸš€ Start Date: As soon as possible πŸ•’ Work Hours: Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00 Weekends & after-hours: As required, depending on events πŸ’Ό Key Responsibilities πŸŽ›οΈ Event Technical Support Assist with technical set-up during projects (e.g. rigging, cabling, equipment placement and testing under supervision). Engage professionally with clients on site and support the technical team in delivering a world-class experience. Identify, establish and log technical faults, and escalate issues where necessary. Adhere to event schedules and call times to ensure setups and strikes are completed within allocated time frames. 🏭 Warehouse & Equipment Prepare equipment in the warehouse for events (checking, cleaning, labelling and packing gear). Participate in general warehouse activities when not on site (stocking, organising, basic checks). Load and offload equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with basic equipment maintenance and report any faults or damage immediately. 🚚 Driving & Logistics Ensure the safe, legal and efficient operation of heavy articulated vehicles for the transport of equipment, gear or passengers, including: 8-ton trucks Crafters and similar vehicles Truck-and-trailer combinations Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip inspections and comply with company and legal road-safety standards. βš™οΈ Health, Safety & Development Comply with all health and safety legislation, company policies and on-site safety protocols. Attend technical training sessions as and when required. Actively look for opportunities for self-development, especially in technical skills.
