Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
Source and place orders within strict deadlines
Capture contract upload information
Perform administrative functions e.g. general filing, drafting of scope of work, conduct correspondence with suppliers etc.
Promote the company’s good name by adhering to the high ethical standards of the purchasing fraternity
Processing of purchase orders which includes the following activities:
Check purchase requisitions for completeness
Identify and/or propose possible suppliers.
Issue RFx enquiries
Request, analyze and adjudicate quotes(s).
Negotiate with suppliers on issues such as cost and delivery
Assist internal customers by following up on non-compliant suppliers and enforcing adherence to agreed contractual arrangements
Monitor and report on supplier performance in respect of Afrimat’s performance expectations
Maintain Departmental records and statistics concerning stock valuation, supply delivery performance, supply price performance etc.
Compile Company contracts as instructed by Manager
Assist the Manager with any purchasing projects or other ad hoc purchasing functions as and when required.
Assist accounts payable to match invoices and capture supplier payments
Assist with stock counts at specified sites
Assist in the Requisition to Pay process
Assist in the Inventory and Planning functions
