Key Requirements (Qualifying Criteria)
Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse (Enrolled Nurse).
Working experience at primary healthcare facilities (advantageous).
No criminal record or prior dismissal for misconduct.
Must undergo a criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (at own cost).
Primary Duties
Staff Nurses will work 8 hours per day (Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00) in City of Tshwane clinics, rendering basic primary healthcare services within their scope of practice:
Basic nursing care for stable/uncomplicated conditions.
Screening, assessments, vital signs (weight, BP, temperature, etc.).
Basic tests: urine, haemoglobin, blood glucose, pregnancy, eye tests.
Blood draws, sputum collection, pap smears, nebulisation.
Administer IM injections (e.g., immunisations), wound care, family planning.
Health promotion, education sessions, HIV counselling.
Data capturing, record keeping, basic admin/reception tasks.
Work under supervision of Professional Nurses where needed.
