DRIVER / GENERAL ALL-ROUNDER

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and hands-on Driver / General All-Rounder to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is willing to assist wherever needed. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for deliveries and collections, but on quieter/off days will assist with maintenance, warehouse duties and general operational tasks. WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 8-5pm Saturdays - 8am-1pm Every second Sunday THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: We are looking for a true all-rounder — someone who does not only see themselves as a driver. You should be willing to drive, load, offload, clean, repair, organise, assist in the warehouse and help the team wherever necessary. Requirements

• Valid South African driver's licence – essential plus PDP
• Good and responsible driving record.
• Must be comfortable driving delivery vehicles.
• Physically fit and able to load/offload event equipment.
• Basic maintenance or handyman skills will be advantageous.
• Able to use basic tools.
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to learn and take instructions.
• Must have a positive, "no job is too small" attitude.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including some weekends and public holidays when events require it.

Responsibilities

• Driving & Deliveries:
• - Safely deliver and collect event rental equipment.
• - Load and offload tables, chairs, décor, glassware and other rental stock.
• - Ensure the correct items and quantities are loaded before leaving the warehouse.
• - Assist with checking returned rental stock.
• - Follow delivery and collection schedules and routes.
• - Handle company vehicles and client property responsibly.
• - Keep the company vehicle clean and report any mechanical problems immediately.
• Maintenance & General Duties:
• On days when driving is not required, the employee will assist with:
• - Cleaning and maintaining rental equipment.
• - Minor repairs to tables, chairs, backdrops, stands and other event equipment.
• - Painting, sanding and general refurbishment of stock where required.
• - Basic handyman and maintenance work.
• - Cleaning and organising the warehouse.
• - Packing and preparing orders for upcoming events.
• - Returning stock to the correct warehouse locations.
• - Assisting with stock counts and identifying damaged or missing items.
• - Assisting the operations team with event setup and breakdown when required.
• - Performing other reasonable operational duties as required.
