General Worker

Job description

Overberg Water, a water board in the Western Cape, has a General Worker post at its water facilities. Incumbents may rotate or travel to other sites. Ref: POST OW-OPS-0226. Closing date: 20 November 2026.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Code 08 driver's licence
• Good communication, writing and people skills
• Willing to work standby, shifts, weekends and holidays
• Physically fit

Responsibilities

• Read meters, gauges and data loggers
• General maintenance, groundskeeping and housekeeping
• Handle and transport water samples, chemicals and equipment
• Complete timesheets, log-sheets and job cards
• Assist with pipe bursts and cleaning reservoirs, tanks and filters
• Clean and maintain the purification plant
