Job description

Midvaal Local Municipality is offering 2 six-month internships in Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management in Meyerton, paying R8,333.33 a month (all-inclusive). Only unemployed graduates who live within the Midvaal Local Municipality area will be considered. Reference: MN4193/26. Closes 23 October 2026 at 12:00.

Requirements

• Diploma (NQF 6) or degree (NQF 7) in Electrical Engineering, Built Environment, Natural Sciences, Economic Sciences or related field
• Unemployed graduate with no prior full-time job in the sector
• Must live within the Midvaal Local Municipality area
• Good MS Office (Excel, Word), analytical and report-writing skills
• Driver's licence is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Assist with baseline energy assessments and audits
• Collect and analyse energy consumption data
• Support energy efficiency projects (lighting, HVAC, controls)
• Support demand-side management and awareness campaigns
• Prepare technical and progress reports
