Job description

The Gauteng Department of Health invites applications for the Gauteng College of Nursing 2027 Student Nurse Intake: a 3-year Diploma in Nursing at Ann Latsky, Bonalesedi, Chris Hani Baragwanath or SG Lourens campus. Applications are online only — no walk-ins, hand-delivered or emailed applications. Applicants already funded by a government department or scheme (including NSFAS) or already enrolled at a tertiary institution will not be considered.

Requirements

• South African citizen who resides and matriculated in Gauteng
• NSC: English Level 4, Life Sciences Level 4, Mathematics Level 4 (or Maths Literacy Level 5), APS 27+
• Senior Certificate: English, Biology and Maths HG D / SG C, M-score 17
• NCV Level 4 (Primary Health): 50% fundamentals, 60% vocational subjects
• Current Grade 12 learners may apply with final Grade 11 results

Responsibilities

• Full-time 3-year Diploma in Nursing studies
• Clinical training in Gauteng public hospitals and clinics
• Shift work as part of clinical placements
