Is this really entry-level?
Almost. The system labels these jobs as more senior, but the actual requirements are short:
- Matric / NQF 4
- Cape Town roles: at least 6 months of call centre, customer service or financial-services experience
- Umhlanga UK Energy role: about 1 year on a gas or electricity campaign plus 1 year in customer service or sales
- Computer literacy, and the ability to handle calls, chat and email
- A clear credit and criminal record
If you worked in a call centre, a store till or a customer help desk for six months, you may qualify for the Cape Town roles.

Things to know before you apply
- Night shifts. The Cape Town roles serve US customers, so shifts run through the South African night. Plan your transport.
- Contract length. Two adverts give different contract lengths in different places. Ask the recruiter if you are invited to an interview.
- US or UK knowledge. Knowing how US or UK customers speak and what they expect helps. Practise a clear, calm phone voice.
Make your CV work for a call centre
1. List your call or customer volumes (for example, "handled about 60 calls a day"). 2. Mention the systems you used: CRM, ticketing, Excel or a till system. 3. Put your typing speed and languages near the top. 4. Keep it to two pages and save it as a PDF.
